If you’re like me then getting back to that pre-pandemic body has become nearly impossible.
Even when you’re trying to eat right, the quality of the food available is at an all-time low. Everyone knows body goals are made in the kitchen, not just the gym. Seed oils, gum fillers, and processed ingredients have ruined America’s food supply and ultimately destroyed our guts.
It has become increasingly apparent that the microbiome — the bacteria in your gut — directly impacts our overall health. In fact, 95% of the body’s serotonin, the feel-good hormone, is produced by gut bacteria, and most of our immune system is found in the intestines as well.
We are composed of more bacterial cells than cells of our own, and the microbiome has a MASSIVE impact on obesity and how we digest the foods we eat. It even has an impact on overall metabolism and energy expenditure. Different diets have been shown to change the diversity and composition of the gut microbiome which raises even more questions about the role our guts play in how we look and feel.
But what feeds the microbiome? With some research I learned that prebiotics are CRITICAL for the good bacteria that resides in our body- it is in fact their main source of food! Prebiotics are key to a healthy gut, but there’s a catch: not all prebiotics are made equal.
Have you ever heard that adults who were breastfed as infants live healthier lives? According to studies breast fed infants have better immune systems, easier weight management, and less incidences of chronic disease as they age into adulthood. One of the theories behind why this happens is due to the prebiotics found in breast milk called Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs). The most abundant among these prebiotics is 2′-fucosyllactose (2’FL).
When I started reading about HMOs like 2’FL and their immense potential benefits to the gut, I was shocked! It is nature’s most powerful prebiotic. Just look at all the potential impacts 2’FL may have:
- improved microbial diversity
- anti-adhesive effect against pathogens
- enhanced gut cell response
- boosted immune system
- better nutrient absorption
Once I realized how important incorporating a good prebiotic into my diet was, I started searching everywhere to find a supplement that had HMOs in them. Surprisingly there wasn’t much out there that had 2’FL in it. Luckily I was able to find Klora’s Gut Renew, one of the first gut health supplements that combines the 2’fl prebiotic along with a postbiotic to target all aspects of gut health. And don’t worry the 2’Fl in Klora doesn’t come from actual breast milk – is made to be molecularly identical to the one found in humans.
Klora understands the importance of HMOs and how prebiotics can affect gut health. They put together a unique delayed release capsule to help ensure delivery of their ingredients in the right parts of the digestive system. The inner cap contains 2’Fl and the outer cap contains the second ingredient called Butyrate. Butyrate is the most important postbiotic produced by the microbiome and is in fact the main fuel source for the digestive cells! Without enough butyrate production, there is bound to be health issues like leaky gut, and possibly even unwanted weight gain. It is the first time any company has put together these two unique ingredients in a daily formula.
With Klora, I also knew I was getting the highest quality capsules, because they’re all tested by a third party and certified for authenticity.
So if you’re someone who’s going through what I did, struggling with your shape, a lack of energy after the pandemic, dealing with poor food choices, among many other issues- do yourself a favor and give Klora’s Gut Renew a shot. After a few weeks of diet changes and taking Klora daily I finally started to feel like myself again. Try it–you’ll see the difference on how incorporating 2’FL and postbiotics into your routine truly makes.
